Tech Tip: Compressed Folder
There are many times that I am trying to share large files with others but can't send them through email due to their size. This can be videos, several pictures, multiple PDFs, or any other type of file. This can be a hassle to get around as often people move them manually through a flash drive or send multiple emails with different attachments to share these files. A more simple way to solve this problem is through a compressed zip folder. This is a file that compresses the size of the contents so that they can be moved easier and take up less storage space. This can be done by putting all the files into one folder. You can give this folder whatever name you would like to identify the contents. You then right-click on the folder click on "Send To" and then select "Compressed (Zip) Folder." This will make the contents of the folder much smaller which will save storage and allow you to share more files over email.
Tech Tip: One Drive
One drive is a powerful tool that makes working on documents anywhere or sharing them with people incredibly easy. You can use this through Microsoft Office online. Your documents are saved in this drive and you can access them from any device using your login. You also have the ability to share these documents with people. You can share it read-only or, if you are working on something with a partner or group, you can share editing access which will allow multiple people to work on the same document at the same time with live updates across all access points. You can use any Microsoft Office product here as well. This includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and others.

Tech Tip: Microsoft Teams
Microsoft teams is an application that connects to your Microsoft office account. You can add people to different projects and teams and use this to plan out due dates and milestones for an assignment or project that you are working on. Everyone on a team can see the meetings and dates that are scheduled for that team on their team calendar and you can see all of the information for all the teams you are apart of as well as any other events that you put on there for yourself. This can connect to your Microsoft Office email and you can add events from there as well. This is a useful tool for keeping up to date on work and projects and organizing and planning your day, week and month.

Tech Tip: Canvas Calendar
The calendar that is provided through Canvas is useful for planning ahead in your classes. It shows wen all your assignments due and color codes them by course. I use this all the time to update my personal calendar and write sticky notes to remind me when my work is due. By checking the Canvas calendar frequently and updating my personal calendar, I remember when assignments are due and I am able to stay on track in my classes.
